When should Radon Testing be done?

Is radon more prevalent in vacant houses?

If a normal temperature is maintained in an occupied house, the upper floors of a vacant house may have higher radon levels. Radon Testing can determine the levels.  The upper floors of a vacant house should have higher radon levels than those of an occupied house with the same temperature.  Due to normal natural ventilation, radon does not build up to higher levels when a home is vacant for a long time. Radon testing would be recommended in all vacant homes.
